The Lord put the desire in my heart to be a missionary when I was 16 years old, almost 1 year after I was saved. He allowed me to study in Crown College, Powell, Tennessee under the influence and direction of Dr. Clarence Sexton. During my time at Crown College, I travelled to Peru on a missions interim for 7 months. The Lord taught me many things about missions through Missionary Austin Gardner. While there, the Lord gave me a burden for the Spanish-speaking people of the world and after returning from Peru, I started studying about Argentina. Macedonia World Baptist Missions accepted me as their first missionary to Argentina in December 1999.
On June 5, 2000, less than 1 month after graduating from Crown College, my wife and I were married. My wife, Mindy, grew up in a Christian home and from a very early age had always had a desire to be a missionary. I thank the Lord for the help that she is to me in my life.
After 18 months on deputation, we arrived in Arequipa, Peru for language school where we again were under the leadership and instruction of Bro. Austin Gardner. While in Peru, we received much hands-on experience in the ministry. While still learning the language we began to win souls and disciple. We were able to help and experience the starting of a new church and I became the Youth Leader during the last few months there. I know that the Lord used this time in Peru to not only learn the language, but also to learn in the ministry.
After leaving Peru, we started our paperwork to come to Argentina and arrived here in January 2004. We had our first service at the Lighthouse Baptist Church (Iglesia Bautista El Faro) on March 21, 2004 with 24 people. Over the next several months the Lord began to bless and in September, 2004 we began the Grace Baptist Church in Quilmes, Argentina. Seeing the need to train young people we opened the Macedonia Bible Institute. We opened in March 2005 with 13 students. The Lord has had His hand on the Lighthouse Baptist Church as we are seeing an attendance of over 100 for Sunday mornings. Praise the Lord that the people have learned to reach out to their family and friends with the Gospel and they have also learned to give to the Lord’s work. Right now we are in a new stage in the ministry — building by faith a new church building. In January 2007 we made the first payment on a property of 1100 square meters. By faith we will begin building soon and we ask that you continue to pray for the ministry that the Lord is doing here.
