Luke 20

Luke 20

Three times in this passage they try to tempt Jesus: vs. 2,21 and 27. I love how the Lord answered, He asked them questions instead of just giving them answers: vs. 3,24, and 38. In His asking questions, “they reasoned with themselves” (vs. 5). Answering the questions would’ve been easy, but He made them think and they ended up answering the questions themselves after reasoning in their hearts. To the point that vs. 40 says “after that they durst not ask him any questions at all”.

The chapter closes out by the Lord telling them to reward of the scribes because they do everything to be seen of men… and they will receive a greater damnation (vs. 46-47).
